UGC NET is conducted by the National Testing Agency. It has two papers and the duration of the exam is 3 hours. The questions are objective-type questions. It is given in online mode. The question paper is given in two languages and there is no break in-between the three-hour exam.

The UGC NET 2022 pattern for Paper I is given below along with question distribution as per the topics. Paper I is common for all the candidates who apply and will be in both Hindi and English.

Pattern for Paper II of UGC NET.
There are 82 subjects out of which the candidate has to choose 1 for Paper II. All questions should be mandatorily attempted. There are no negative marks. The candidates have to give in their language preference for the question paper at the time of application itself.

How to check the answer key?
- The candidates should open the official NTA website ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- There will be a link below the Candidate activity.
- Through that link, the candidate should give their Application number and date of birth.
- After submitting this, the candidate would be able to see the UGC NET answer key on their device screen.
- The candidates can download the answer key for calculating marks or for raising objections against the provided answers.
How to challenge UGC NET Answer Key?
After releasing the results, NTA announces a specific period where the candidates are encouraged and given an opportunity to raise objections against the officially released answer key. For UGC NET 2022, the 26th of October was the last date for raising any objections.
The candidates should pay a sum of Rs 200 for each question they object to. A team of academic experts will verify the objection raised, and if proven to be right, the right answer will be released in the final revised answer key.
The steps below will help the candidates to know how to raise objections without any confusion.
Step 1: The candidates must go to the official website of UGC NET 2022 ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
Step 2: There will be a link with ‘challenge’, which will lead to a new window.
Step 3: After giving the application number and the password, the candidates will be asked to type the security verification pin.
Step 4: Once the candidates submit, there will be a link that will help the candidates to see the questions and the marked answers.
Step 5: To challenge the UGC NET answer key, then the candidate needs to click on the ‘challenge answer key’.
Step 6: Under the section mentioned ‘correct choice’, there will be the ID of the right answer given by NTA.
Step 7: So, to challenge the answer, the candidates can select the ID of another option they suggest is right.
Step 8: Once the candidates click on the option, they will be redirected to a new page where they can see all the answers and the IDs that they have objected to.
Step 9: The candidates are also given the option to provide supporting evidence to prove their objection right.
Step 10: The next step is to pay for the objection raised in the UGC NET answer key.
Step 11: The candidates should take a printout or a screenshot of the payment page and save it for further reference.
Step 12: If the candidate’s objection is found to be correct, NTA will release a revised answer key with the right answer.
There are no time restrictions for each section and there is no break between the 3 hours exam. The candidates should keep checking the official website for the results and their notification because the portal is closed for UGC NET answer key objections.
